Importing Data for a Case
Bankruptcy Plus can import creditor and liability data, as well as shareholder and stock holdings data, from spreadsheets and text files. A list of creditor names and addresses can be added to the Common Creditor List, or a list of names, addresses, claim amounts and related information can be added to the Schedules for a specific case.

Exemption Sets
Bankruptcy Plus contains the Federal property exemption lists as well as all of the State property exemption lists. These lists can be edited under the Setup menu. Bankruptcy Plus tracks the exemptions claimed and provides warnings if the available exemption amount is exceeded.

In states where there is a choice between state and federal exemptions, you have the option of setting up exemption claims for each property under both sets for comparison purposes. The exemption set does not need to be selected until the exemption schedules are ready to be printed.

In states where only one exemption set is available, Bankruptcy Plus automatically fills in the Exemption set field.

Common Creditor List
You can build a Common Creditor list containing names and addresses of creditors that appear frequently in bankruptcy cases and select them when needed. Additional lists of other parties who require notice of a bankruptcy can also be created.

Common Text
The Common Text feature enables you to enter words or phrases that you use frequently and assign them to CTRL-key combinations. Insert the common text in any field with a single keystroke. You can also set up a list of common text entries under a single CTRL-key combination so you can choose from the list when inserting text.

Client Questionnaire
A questionnaire/work sheet can be printed from the program and given to the debtor to fill in. This document captures the information required for the initial filing of the bankruptcy petition. The questionnaire can be customized to meet your needs.

Status Reports
Bankruptcy Plus provides a number of management reports for tracking the status of your cases.

A follow up report may be generated to show cases that have certain dates that lie in a given range. For example, the report can be printed to show all cases whose creditors' meeting occurs between the 1st and the 15th of the following month. Case analysis reports provide information on debts vs. non-exempt assets, a Chapter 12 or 13 plan payout schedule, and a Chapter 7 liquidation analysis.

Note to File
A Note to file is text placed in the Bankruptcy Plus database for information purposes or as a reminder for action. Notes to file can be saved as general notes, or linked to a specific case. The number and size of notes written or attached to a particular case is unlimited. A Note to file can be set up so that a reminder appears on the computer screen on the follow up date. The notification continues each time any user logs in until the follow up date is cleared or the note is deleted.

Chapter 13 Plan Calculator
Bankruptcy Plus provides a great deal of flexibility for setting up plans for Chapter 13 cases. Fields exist for specifying when and how each class of creditors will be paid, provisions for payment of attorney fees, and trustee fee calculation.   Once the parameters for a plan have been entered, including classifying claims to be paid, the program can calculate the number of months for the plan, the amount of monthly payment required, or the percentage to be paid to the general unsecured creditors.

Online Credit Reporting
Using the Online Credit Reporting feature, you can request and download a consumer credit report for your client over the internet. This feature interfaces with the system of Online Credit Reporting Corporation, which provides credit reports with combined information from the three major credit reporting bureaus. (Requires a subscription to the service provided by Online Credit Reporting Corporation.)

After downloading the credit report, choose which claims should be imported to which schedules, saving time in data entry, and reducing the likelihood that creditors could be omitted. You can also view the consumer credit report in PDF format.

Archive and Restore
Case data can easily be transported between home and office computers by archiving cases to a disk.  This is also useful for case backups. You can also copy case information such as liability and property lists from one case to another.

Help
On-line help screens are available throughout the program, and provide context sensitive information, as well as the Windows "search" and "contents" help selections.
